This product is non-ionic cellulose ethers which is mainly used as film formers for film coating at concentrations between 2 – 20 %. Cellulose ethers are specially designed to tightly control the polymer attributes which contribute to drug release rates.
It is used as thickening agent for eye drops and artificial tears at low concentrations of 0.45 – 1.0 %. It can also be used to prevent coalescence of particles or gel and avoid producing precipitation. It can also be used as softener, suspending agent to help prevent or minimize suspension settling without altering taste of mouth feel. It is also used a stabilizer in gels and creams.
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) is a substituted cellulose that reduces serum cholesterol at modest intake levels. HPMC is approved by FDA as both a direct and an indirect food additive, and is approved for use as a food additive by the EU. HPMC has also been used for decades in gluten-free breads at a level to optimize loaf volume.

Packing: 25 kg / barrel with inner polythene lining in well closed and PP sealed condition.
It is also used as a tablet granulating binders in aqueous, hydroalcoholic or non-aqueous solvent system at concentration of 2 – 5%. It helps to reduce the required compression force resulting in extending the life of tooling and compression equipment.
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose possess suitable properties to be used as a capsule shell such as this cellulose is derived from naturally occurring plant cellulose giving vegetarian capsule. Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose is free from amino acids avoiding the risk of cross linking with the excipients, better stability in presence of water, easy to swallow, gluten-free, allergen-free, preservative free, have excellent film-forming property.
